LAWTON — Cameron University will host presentations next week by renowned ethnologist Cornel Pewewardy and Boston marathon bombing survivor Rebekah Gregory. Both are open to the public at no charge.
Gregory will present "The Best and Worst Day of My Life," at 6 p.m. Wednesday in McCasland Ballroom.
Gregory's life was forever changed due to the events of the Boston marathon bombings on April 15, 2013. She and her 5-year-old son were waiting at the finish line to support a friend who was running when homemade bombs went off three feet away. Her legs took the brunt of the blast while protecting her son. Eighteen surgeries and 65 procedures later, her left leg was amputated. CLICK FOR MORE
